Excellent quality! Highly recommend
Completely satisfied with this product. I’ve had this umbrella know for years and I am most happy with this quality umbrella.
This works great to protect my skin from the sun. I never wore sunscreen when I was younger and generally avoided the sun. However, now that I'm older I'm noticing sun spots so I bought this for walking. The only two things I dislike are the strong winds and it's a bit difficult to close. Can't really do anything about wind, I just hope it doesn't break the spines.
Bought this as a gift for a friend who has a skin condition that requires to have as much sun block or protection as possible. She was familiar with this umbrella’s category. She is very happy and recommends it.
This is my 3rd time purchasing a G4Free umbrella. I live near the desert and use a variety of the umbrellas to protect my plants from direct sunlight in the summer. This latest purchase is to keep in my car and use for dog walks, or going in/out of work and shops when needed direct sun is brutal. I have sun damage to my eyes and vitiligo on my face, so these umbrellas with the reflective tops help me survive in the summer. The umbrellas with the push button are preferred.
Dropped the temperature a couple degrees. It made a world of difference. Thick fabric, easy open and close, it held up nicely despite a 10-15mph wind.
good
I bought for travel of using in the sun but really has been so helpful. I was stuck in bright sun with no protective cover in England with late train. I used this helped with heat and sun exposure. I use it for rain sun high heat in Florida and Europe. I’m going to get more for family
Customers said this travel umbrella provides excellent UPF 50+ sun protection with a reflective silver coating that noticeably reduces heat. "Dropped the temperature a couple degrees." Lightweight and compact with push-button open/close. Some concerns about durability in wind and difficulty closing, though many praised quality.
- Thick fabric, easy open and close, it held up nicely despite a 10-15mph wind.
- Amazing for keeping the sun off. You won't feel like you're baking in the sun.
- It kept my upper body shaded and much cooler, and gave me so much peace of mind.

I wanted to replace my very old umbrella, and came across this 2 in 1 option as it provides sun protection as well. It is compact and very lightweight, which makes it a great choice for traveling. It is easy to use, quickly opens up and closes by pressing the button. The metallic color and UV protection keeps you nice and cool when you are out in hot sun. I will sure use it during long tourism tours. The construction is pretty sturdy, so should be strong during winds and should last. I am happy with this product.
This is a useful little umbrella. It is always a good idea to carry an umbrella in you vehicle when there is the possibility of rain. With a compact umbrella you can just carry it along all the time. This is a stout little umbrella. The slick silver colored material on the outside that will reflect sunlight, it is also waterproof. The extend mechanism has a pretty strong spring that helps to extend the umbrella when you open it. Because the spring is so strong, it takes quite a bit of effort to close the umbrella back to the catch. A person that is less strong may have a little trouble getting the umbrella all the way closed.
The opaque silver coating on the umbrella provides much more complete shade than uncoated umbrellas. It also serves to reflect light and keep the shade cool.
It sheds rain well.
While I find the handle a little short, it is sufficient for a small, packable umbrella.
The button opens the umbella easily and helps to close it as well. The spring in the main shaft is strong enough to still need a bit of strength to finish closing it.
I was disappointed to find the metal frame on an umbrella advertised as being fiberglass, a material much more forgiving to the occasional times when a gust of wind might blow it inside out. See the kitchen magnets sticking to the frame in the photo. The magnets wouldn't stick to fiberglass.
While this may not be my favorite rain umbrella as it does not have the largest wingspan, it does provide sufficient rain coverage in a pinch for a single person and is compact enough to slip in a tote bag. I have yet to test it in high winds for durability but it seems fairly sturdy in construction.
Its greatest feature is its ability to deflect the sun with its silver coating and UPF 50+ coating. One does not have to roast underneath as much as you would under a regular black umbrella. I live in Southern California where it is often sunny and cloudless, so this is a significant advantage.
The button works excellently as well to open and close the umbrella, though it feels as if more force is required than normal (compared to other travel umbrellas I’ve owned) to push it back down into the handle after closing.
I bought this for when we walk across the international bridge for our shopping and dental visits in Mexico. Depending on the day, the line for the trip going back across through U.S. customs, and passport checks, can be quite a long wait. If we are left standing in line outside the building it can get sweltering in the hot sun. Having a large umbrella helps a bit. I chose this one because of the UV Protection.
It opens with a click of a button but the wooden handle with the button isn’t very large. It also closes with a click of the same button which is a nice feature except for when you hit the button accidentally. Because the handle is so short the button takes up half of it so accidentally hitting it happens quite a lot. I’ve taken to holding the umbrella by the metal piece above the handle to keep from pressing the button.
Rain drops bead up on the fabric which is a great feature. The strap will hang down from the edge of the umbrella and flop around so we just secure it to itself when it’s open. It is recommended to dry the umbrella before closing it. Luckily it dries quickly, or you can quickly dry it with a towel. At first I had difficulty getting the strap snapped back into place after closing it but realized that I was trying to wrap it around to far up. It needs to be wrapped right above the handle.
I don't know what it is, but the open/closing mechanism is faulty in these! I bought another one first, and it sprung threads when I opened it for the second time and stopped working..but I loved the coverage and sun blocking ability it has, however I had to return it! So I bought another hoping it would work better, and after using it the first time I had trouble closing it down. The mechanics are very stiff..I may have to return this one too, however I really needed it, because this Florida heat is already too much! Update, the wire inside this new one is already bent sideways.. I'm not having any luck with these. Update 08/01/2923, Great news friends 😊...the seller contacted me personally to rectify my damaged umbrella issues, although it was past due the return date, and sent me a spanking brand new Solar UV umbrella, that I need now more than ever. The heat has been grueling, and I've developed a weird feeling sandpaper feeling lesion on my face! Of course the first thing I thought "Cancer(Melanoma I feared), we need to stay protected from the sun and this umbrella gives great coverage. I haven't used it yet, but will let you guys in, if there are more issues, but I am super satisfied with their above and beyond fantastic customer service..this is a good day (((hugs)))☂️🥰
Love the silver/purple. Wooden handle very sturdy, ONLY issue the fabric is very THICK. When folding the umbrella up and sliding back into the umbrella sleeve its hard. Definitely protects you from the 🌞 🤞 it last.
The tag says nothing about it being for the sun. It says keep away from sunlight as sunlight could damage it. So, it's just an overpriced regular umbrella that looks cool.
Excellent quality! Highly recommend
I suffer from photo sensitivity and was looking for an umbrella that could protect me from the uv rays so I can enjoy the outdoors.
This umbrella has been great for that! It’s a good size, easy to use and seems to do a good job of blocking the uv rays.
This saved me in the Florida heat and sun when there was no shade to be found.
The umbrella protects you from both rain & sun rays!
Price is low, the quite is normal.
Léger, fonctionne bien mais un peu difficile à fermer. La longueur de la petite ceinture est correcte.
Der Schirm ist schön und erfüllt seinen Zweck.
Protege muy bien del sol
I assume because of the sun protection material this umbrella is a bit bulkier than my travel umbrella. It looks pretty, but it smells really bad when you first get it out. Never had to air out an umbrella before, but I guess there's a first for everything. Can't wait to try it out in the summer to see how much of a difference it makes in the bright, hot sun.
I ordered this umbrella mainly to use at my grandchildren’s ball games this summer. I sunburn easily and it can be a pain having to reapply sunscreen. Most of the time at these games I am sitting on bleachers with no shade. It becomes miserable pretty quickly lol. I love that this umbrella has such good UV protection. It also will work well for those afternoon showers that pop up most days during the summer. The umbrella is well made and is double layered. The 42” spread is more than sufficient. I also like that is folds to s fairly compact size. Great product!
I live in a desert climate, so I don't have to deal with rain very often (and don't even own an umbrella) but do have a lot of sun. I burn easily and ordered this umbrella specifically for the UV protection. I think it looks like a good-quality umbrella. I love that it opens and closes with just a press of a button. The lake blue is a really pretty color. I really wish the handle was longer. Maybe this is just a standard handle length for an umbrella? I looked at the product photos again, and it does show a length of 22.5 inches, but it feels so short. I showed it to my husband, and he was certain it would extend. He almost broke it trying to pull the handle up more. Don't do that! When you press the button and it pops out, that is the handle length. I am planning to use this while I sit in a camp chair and watch my daughter play tennis. If the handle was longer, I could prop it beside me, but I will have to hold it up by my head instead, which doesn't sound ideal.
The umbrella when unfolded has nice coverage, yet when folded will fit in the door pocket of our auto. Perfect from that standpoint. Only time will tell as to its durability, but initial impressions are positive. It folds and unfolds with relative ease. The faux (?) wood handle is comfortable. Although the outside of the umbrella is shiny/reflective for sun deflection, our needs will be for rain protection only.
Looks nice, feels good, and feels like good quality. not vented though
